Joanna graduated from Swansea University with a First Class Master’s Degree in Osteopathy after 4 years full time study.
Joanna has previously worked within the NHS in conjunction with the musculoskeletal care and assessment unit within the AMBU health board.
She has also worked within the private healthcare sector to provide long term recovery with evidence based hands on treatment, tailored exercise rehabilitation programme and comprehensive and extensive assessment of the musculoskeletal system.
She has also been a part of a medical support team for local road cycling events, Belles of Belvoir and Belvoir Blasts, for several years, providing crucial on-site care and assistance to the cyclists. Through her work with cyclists, she has developed a deep understanding of the physical demands of endurance sports and the importance of injury prevention, rehabilitation and recovery.
Joanna has actively hosted a variety of local events, workshops, and seminars, often focusing on how osteopathy can improve the well-being of specific groups. Through these events, she has shared her expertise by giving insightful talks on the benefits of osteopathic care for desk workers, cyclists, and pregnant/postpartum women.
Additionally, she has developed resources tailored to the unique needs of these groups, offering guidance on movement and self-care strategies grounded in osteopathic principles. By integrating osteopathy into her work, Joanna ensures that local communities have access to holistic methods for managing pain, preventing injury, and promoting overall health.
I first discovered what osteopathy was when I visited an osteopath when I was 14 after experiencing excruciating back and chest pain from being perched on a lab stool for 4 hours a day at school. The osteopath was a saviour for me and helped me get out of pain and ultimately discovered the root cause to help me long term to stay pain free.
I loved how osteopathy provided a career that involved hands-on helping individuals to achieve their goals.
The 1 to 1 layout of Osteopathy allows me to form a patient and practitioner relationship that drives my passion to educate and improve my patients quality of life.
After my A-levels, I went straight to University to complete my 4 year full time training in my Master’s Degree in Osteopathy at Swansea University.
I have previously worked within the NHS in conjunction with the musculoskeletal care and assessment unit within the AMBU health board.
I am currently working within the private healthcare sector to offer expert pain relief solutions and specialist rehabilitation programmes.
I have set up Belvoir Osteopathy to allow my practice to be flexible around my morals of improving communication, education and being purely patient focused to improve their quality of life.
I did my training and graduated from Swansea University with a First Class Master’s Degree in Osteopathy after 4 years full time study.
I am fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council. All osteopaths in the UK are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). As part of this process, the GOsC checks that osteopaths have current professional indemnity insurance, remain in good health and of good character, and have met mandatory continuing professional development requirements.
My style of practice is classed as structural Osteopathy.
I enjoy providing a patient centred approach to provide them with clear diagnosis, treatment plans and long term solutions for their aches and pains.
My treatment approach relies on patients' commitment to their health and long term management with homework of exercise plans given as part of the treatment package.
